    Apply to present your research at the UCR Symposium. Come get tips on preparing your oral or poster presentation.

    The Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Symposium provides the opportunity for undergraduates across the disciplines to share their research and creative activities with the UCR community. Students may present their work in a variety of ways, such as oral presentations, poster sessions, art exhibits, performances, and electronic media. We encourage all UCR undergraduates involved in faculty mentored research or creative activities to apply, and those not yet involved to discover that attending the Symposium is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available at UCR.

    Learn how to write a proposal to fund faculty mentored undergraduate research or travel to present at a national conference.

    Learn how to publish your research.

    There are many reasons it is important to be published, some of the benefits include: becoming a competitive applicant for grad school, enhancing your resume, displaying leadership and initiative, and improving writing and research skills. Come learn how to create a clear and concise submission for publication.  This workshop is required of any student who wishes to submit to the UCR Undergraduate Research Journal.

    Learn how to prepare a competitive proposal for the CRF.

    The UCR Chancellor's Research Fellowship awards thirteen undergraduate students up to $5,750 each. The application for this award opens in late winter and closes in early April. The fellowship begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th of the following year. In order to be eligible to apply for the fellowship, all candidates must attend an application workshop. To learn more, please join us and attend one of the workshops listed below:

    • Barry Goldwater Scholarship
      Provides $7,500 scholarships to college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering, the Goldwater Foundation is helping ensure that the U.S. is producing the number of highly-qualified professionals the Nation needs in these critical fields. You must be nominated to apply. Come learn about this exciting award opportunity.

    • CRF 2015-16 Group PhotoApplying to the Chancellor's Research Fellowship Workshop

      1) Personal Statement Workshops:  Learn about common elements of personal statements and how to get started on writing your own.

    • 2) General Statement of Grant Purpose: Personal statements are necessary if you’re planning on applying to graduate or professional schools and even for many scholarships and fellowships. The ARC’s Writing Support Specialist will go over common elements of personal statements and how to get started on writing your own.
